Associate Clinical Director

Pathways for Change | Children’s Counseling Center – Lehigh Valley, PA

Pathways for Change is a growing, multi-location children’s mental health practice known for high-quality care, strong clinical standards, and a commitment to doing things the right way—for clients and clinicians.

We are seeking an Associate Clinical Director to partner directly with the owner and take a central role in leading day-to-day clinical operations.

This is a senior leadership position for someone who is ready to step out of a purely clinical role and take ownership of team performance, accountability, and operational excellence.

The Role

This role is responsible for ensuring that the clinical team is performing at a high level—clinically, ethically, and operationally.

You will:

  • Lead and manage a team of clinicians and clinical supervisors
  • Enforce caseload expectations and minimum weekly session requirements
  • Monitor performance metrics and address underperformance directly and promptly
  • Hold high-level, professional conversations regarding productivity, accountability, and expectations
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new clinicians
  • Make recommendations regarding promotions, performance improvement plans, and terminations
  • Support and guide clinical supervisors in managing their teams
  • Oversee scheduling efficiency and access to care for clients
  • Partner with administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and strong client experience
  • Assist with payroll review and approval related to clinical staff
  • Maintain alignment with insurance, documentation, and compliance standards

What This Role Is (and Is Not)

This is:

  • A leadership role with real authority and accountability
  • A position for someone comfortable making difficult decisions
  • A role that requires direct communication and follow-through

This is not:

  • A passive or purely supportive position
  • A role for someone who avoids conflict or struggles with accountability conversations
  • A “figurehead” title without operational responsibility

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
  • Has experience supervising clinicians and leading teams
  • Is confident, direct, and professional in communication
  • Understands that access to care depends on clinician availability and productivity
  • Is comfortable using data and metrics to guide decisions
  • Can balance empathy with accountability
  • Is highly organized and follows through consistently
  • Wants to grow into a top-level leadership role within a scaling practice

Compensation & Schedule

  • Competitive salary based on experience and leadership scope
  • Performance-based growth opportunities
  • Partial clinical caseload may be maintained (to be discussed)
  • Benefits include:
    • 50% employer-paid health insurance
    • Paid time off
    • CEU stipend

Why Pathways for Change

We are building one of the region’s premier children’s therapy practices—grounded in quality care, strong systems, and a team that shows up.

This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can lead, shape culture, and make a measurable impact every day.

If you’re ready to move beyond seeing clients and into leading a high-performing clinical team, we’d love to hear from you.
